Longer therapy sessions. Make more time for you.

Therapy is about you - your story, your goals, your space, your needs. So why does the mental health industry continue to deliver that 50-minute cookie-cutter session type? To counter this, I already offer an extended ‘standard session’. This gives you more time to share and wind down before the session ends. For some people, 60 minutes is still not enough, so, the ‘long session’ was born. That is, 90 whole minutes. By extending our time together you get more you time. Doesn’t that sound nice? That’s a solid 90-minutes spent on your self-care and self-discovery!

Not sure if a long session is for you? Read the guide below to find out.

Longer sessions because counselling is not one size fits all.

6 Signs that a Longer Session Might Benefit You.

  1. You often leave a counselling session feeling like you ran out of time to say what was on your mind.

  2. You want more time to unpack and explore.

  3. You want to make more time for practicing strategies and skills.

  4. You find that you become easily overwhelmed in a session, and think that a longer session with breaks to self-soothe will be of more value to you.

  5. You want to do less frequent check-ins with your therapist instead of weekly sessions and so want more time.

  6. You only want one session with the counsellor, and want extra time to get as much value out of it as possible.
