Client Success Snapshot #1.

Emma (35)* came to me for support after escaping an abusive relationship. She wanted to work on her self-confidence and sense of self, after her abuser had stripped much of that away from her. We worked on Emma’s goals to rebuild her life and I provided her with new coping tools that helped her to feel safe, and strong, again. She learned to take control of her own story - and stop living by other people’s narratives. I watched Emma grow and flourish over the course of our sessions. She found her confidence again, and ended up getting back to her roots by following a teenage dream that she’d put on hold.

Client Success Snapshot #2.

Jen (53)* sought therapy as she felt disconnected from herself, struggling with her identity after dedicating much of her life to caring for others. She realised that her mental health had been suffering for some time because she was in the habit of prioritising other’s needs, not her own. As a result she was struggling with depression, low motivation, low self-care and no idea where to start. As a mother, wife, and full-time carer, she realised she had lost touch with her true self, leading to feeling “trapped”, and to loneliness, low self-worth, and resentment. She had a lot of guilt around letting go of some of that responsibility she felt for others, and a lot of internalised rage. Together we worked on Jen’s self-abandoning parts, and she learned how to take control back by setting boundaries, loving herself, expressing her emotions and understanding how to meet her own needs.

Aeliyah (20)* came to me for help managing her generalised and social anxiety. It had been impacting her work life, study and personal relationships. Some weeks she struggled to leave the house. We worked together to help Aeliyah better understand anxiety and its function. Together we worked on resourcing Aeliyah with a mix of tools that helped her regulate and manage anxiety on a day to day. Over the course of our time together, she was able to reduce over-thinking, stop mental rumination, manage panic attacks by de-escalating them sooner, and made new friends.
